Keyboard Shortcuts — Metadata Tab

Audience: Archivists using the Metadata tab to review and curate item metadata.

Keyboard shortcuts let you review an entire batch without lifting your hands from the keyboard. Access this reference at any time from Options → Keyboard shortcuts in the Metadata tab.


Navigation

KeyAction
Move to the previous row
Move to the next row
EscClose the row drawer / deselect all selected rows

Review Status

KeyAction
PMark focused row as Reviewed
XMark focused row as Flagged
UMark focused row as Unreviewed

Selection & Bulk Actions

KeyAction
SpaceSelect / deselect the focused row
DBulk set date for all selected rows
LBulk set location for all selected rows

Bulk actions require at least one row to be selected. The floating bulk action bar appears at the bottom of the screen when rows are selected.


View Toggles

KeyAction
Shift+EToggle EXIF columns (date, GPS, camera model) on/off

Filters

KeyFilter applied
Shift+AAll items
Shift+CConflicts — items with conflicting contributor values
Shift+IIncomplete — items missing date, location, or people
Shift+FFlagged items
Shift+UUnreviewed items

Tips

  • Use ↓ + P repeatedly to fly through a batch — navigate to a row, press P to mark reviewed, repeat.
  • Use Shift+U to jump straight to unreviewed items, then work through them with ↓ + P.
  • Use Space to select a run of rows with uncertain dates, then press D to set a date for all of them at once.
  • Press Esc to close the row drawer and return focus to the table at any time.
